Boy's Birthday

For some reason I'm having a hard time deciding on a date for the boy's birthday. I know May 10th is not a good day so I'm thinking either the 17th or the 24th. Any suggestions? If you are planning on coming, please let me know which of these dates works best for you. As of right now, I am thinking of just having cake at the park in Stephenville. They love the park in S'ville. Leave me comments so I can make a decision. I am terribly proactive and like to have this planned a month in advance. Plus, we have to get on the cake lady's list. We(me and the MiMi..even though she won't admit it) HAVE to have cake from this lady. PLEASE help us in this matter. HA HA HA!

Carsyn touched a fish!

Carsyn touched a fish today! Before, he only liked to "pet" them with his one finger but today he decided he wanted to hold one and throw it back into the water. I'm sure he was thinking if his momma could do it, then he could too. Cutter(red shirt) however will only get as close as the end end of the fishing pole(see picture above) to a fish. We tried several times to get him to throw one back but he took off running for the hills. Maybe next time. I came away the loser in the fishing competition today but came home with the winning title of "the person who has the worst sunburn". It was worth it! I love fishing with my men folk...even when Clark does happen to catch more fish than me.

New arrivals!

After months and months of anticipation, our Maine Anjou babies have finally arrived. We were hoping for two heifers but got one heifer and one bull calf. KaChow(heifer) and Mater(bull) are their names(Tonya specifically asked this question). Hopefully, Mater can find a good home and visit the State Fair next year. Otherwise, he might just end up in my freezer. I never could say no to a good steak. The boys love to take care of these calves. They are able to look out their bedroom window and see them in the pen. Notice the "Cars" influenced names! Carsyn did inform me when we were talking about Mater's color that "Lightning McQueen is red momma, not mater". Oh well! Just thought I would post pictures since many of you have heard me go on and on about when and how they were going to get here. Now you can put a face with a name. Still expecting one more Limousin baby and then I'm done with calving this season. Thank Goodness!

Easter is a scary time.

Taking the boys to go see the Easter bunny is about the only thing I have been able to do every year of their life. This years experience was a little different. They are quite leery of things like the Easter bunny and Santa at this age. I asked them if they wanted to get their picture taken and they both said "NO". I bribed them by saying there would be candy so I got the okay. Once we got there, they liked to wave at him but did not want to get close enough to get the picture. Clark was finally able to talk them into the little yellow chairs but they had one eye on the bunny and one eye on the camera. Afterwards they made sure to tell us "That Easter bunny is scarwy(scary in their language). I might get a normal picture...someday!

Houston Trip

We traveled to Houston over spring break so Clark could work yet again on another one of his holidays. We did do a little sight seeing during our breaks from showing. We went to the Bass Pro Shop. Cutter thought he could live there in one of the tents. He is definitely my outdoors man. He always talks about hunting deer and fishing. He wanted to stay in the gun section a good portion of the time which gave me plenty of worries. We took them to the Galleria. Probably not a popular place for the boys to visit but they loved watching all the kids ice skate. Clark tried to persuade me into ice skating but I didn't think I could do much at home after I broke an arm or a butt bone. The big event was visiting the Houston zoo. Cutter and Carsyn fit right in with the rest of the animals. We did have a few issues with Cutter running away from us and both of them trying to climb over the fences and into the enclosures with the animals. Like a lion! They are fearless. You can see just how close the lion was to the window when Carsyn started climbing. The snake exhibit made a big impression. Clark and I have started to stress the importance of running away from a snake if they see one and not to touch them. They tell us "run away, go tell mommy or daddy..they kill it!" As you can see in the picture, Carsyn was very nervous about the snake statue. Ha! Talk about sending mixed signals. Stand by the snake and take a picture but really run away, don't touch, and tell mommy or daddy. Cutter wouldn't consider standing by it. The exhibit did have a lot of snakes we have at home so we were able to point those out. Going to the zoo with two almost three year olds is a great parental learning experience.

Fishing

The boys have recently decided to become fishermen. Carsyn is really good at throwing out the line. They both have Superman fishing poles with a fake fish on the end so there is an endless supply of fish no matter where they are fishing. They are in the backyard as we speak practicing their reeling technique. They bring Clark the fake fish and tell him to eat his fish sticks. Posting pictures of course.

Roping

The boys love to rope so I thought I would add some photos that were taken a few months back of them roping. They are so cute! I'm going to try to download my pictures from Monster Trucks and the Stock Shows. So more will come soon! Check Back!

Hopefully

I have wanted to do this for a long, long time. HOPEFULLY, I can keep this updated. I'm hoping this will help keep the grandparents, great-grandparents, and all of our friends updated on what's going on with us but especially the boys. Do Clark and I even matter anymore? No, people want pictures and updates on Cutter and Carsyn. I hope this helps all of you who live so far away. It's a way for me to connect with all the people I wish I could see everyday and show them my cute little family. I guess that's enough for now. I see my child with a lug wrench outside working on the tires of MY car. And yes, his father is watching him do it. It won't matter if I drive off in my car and the tires fall off. I hope to post pictures soon and keep everyone updated. Love to you all.
